Since 2006, Emerald Island map is available for free because it is built with free data according to their authors and my wish. Garmin GPS devices evolve with new mapping features and I cannot test without one. Donations will be used to buy a new Garmin GPS device* and, if needed, softwares. Any surplus money will be used for hosting the website, sponsoring other projects about mapping or for a humanitarian association.

If I learnt some interesting facts about the year 1798 and the french campaign, the historical layer is far from being started. It is not so easy to find facts and their corresponding location. If you have some interesting data you want to share, send it here. I am looking for special events like battle, accidents but also good or happy events like historical meetings, birth places...

- For faster display, disable DEM layer
- Search category does not work well
- Probably hidden bug with routing
- Piers rendered like roundabouts
- Slow display while OSM data are increasing
Routable feature is experimental. It depends on data's quality and compiler version.

For owners of Garmin GPS with cartographic functions, here is a topographic chart of Ireland “homemade”. The map is carried out starting from free data found on Internet and in particular starting from information of the following sites :- Mountain Views for summits upper than 400m regularly updated by Simon Stewart.
- The Scottish Mountaineering Club for the geographical toponyms.
- OpenStreetMap for lakes, rivers, roads, urban areas.
- Megalithomania for megaliths and irish antiquities.

This topographic map represents the mountain called Petit Luberon situated in the south of France 50km from the north of Marseille. It is intended for the practice of hiking.
The hypsometric curves were generated starting from a grid with a resolution of 100m surroundings. The precision is increased artificially with a step of 25m for a better legibility of the terrain.<br>Most of the practicable and nonpracticable pedestrian paths spotted between 1999 and 2003 are drawn.
For safety, all the refuges are indicated. The lodgings around of the Petit Luberon are mentioned. Some toponyms are posted to facilitate the location with the chart IGN TOP25 314OT. The map was tested by its author with at least 300 km covered and a Garmin GPS Etrex Legend.
The excursion in Petit Luberon is usually regulated according to the fire hazards from July to September included. Vehicle circulation is restricted.
Remember you that Petit Luberon is a mountain and a natural reserve, take your precautions. Respect the nature and protect this marvellous place for the hikers.
